The wedding of Anna-Livia Guggenberg von Riedhofen and Count Johann-Wenzel von Wilczek in 2025, was truly a spectacle of a magnitude rarely seen in South Tyrol. Anna-Livia, radiant as a fairytale princess in white silk gown with long court, and her proud groom exchanged vows at the parish church of St. Martin in Girlan-Eppan, surrounded by an illustrious gathering of European nobility.
Anna-Livia, a great-grandniece of the last Emperor of Austria, Karl I., is the great-great-granddaughter of Archduchess Josepha and Archduke Max.
Count Johann-Wenzel, who grew up in Vienna and at Schloss Seebarn in Lower Austria, joined her at the altar in what was a celebration not just of love, but of significant historical lineage.
The bride wore a magnificent antique Köchert tiara of diamonds , reminiscent of the celebrated Waldburg-Zeil model from Maison Köchert from the same time, and adorned her hand with an exquisite ring set with ruby and diamonds, the engagement ring from historic gems the family - her large oldmine diamonds as earrings,are the same, as her mother wore on her wedding in 1961,a combination befitting the occasion and her heritage.
Preceding the blissful couple were ten enchanting flower children, dressed in charming blue-and-white outfits that harmonized beautifully with the sophisticated floral arrangements, see above.
Following the ecclesiastical ceremony, the festivities continued at Ansitz Zinnenberg and later at Schloss Freudenstein, where the celebration lasted well into the early hours of the morning.
The event drew the European high nobility, her grandmother Archduchess Ludmila of Habsburg-Lothringen, Countess Kyburg and her mother Marie-Christine Habsburg-Lothringen, Archduchess of Austria, each honouring the historic union of two remarkable families. Even the sky seemed to smile upon the couple as they walked out of the church, ushered into their new life together amidst joy and tradition.
